USDA — Frequently Asked Questions

USDA is a US dollar–pegged stablecoin issued on Canton Network for trading on Temple's CLOB.

What is USDA?

USDA is a fiat-backed stablecoin designed to maintain a value of 1.00 USD. Each USDA in circulation is backed by an equivalent amount of US dollar or USD-denominated assets held in reserve at regulated US financial institutions. USDA is issued by Brale Inc., a US-regulated stablecoin issuer, and is available exclusively on Canton Network for use across Temple's trading venues.

How USDA Works

  • Issuer. Brale Inc., a US-regulated money transmitter, issues and redeems USDA and oversees the reserves backing it. Temple is the program partner and brand owner.

  • Network. USDA is native to Canton Network. It is not issued or supported on any other chain.

  • Peg. Each USDA is intended to maintain a value of 1.00 USD, backed 1:1 by USD or USD-denominated reserve assets.

  • Use. USDA serves as a quote and settlement asset on Temple's CLOB. Trades against USDA settle atomically on Canton.

How do I get USDA?

Any Temple customer can acquire USDA by trading into it on Temple's CLOB. No separate onboarding is required beyond your existing Temple account.

How do I convert USDA back to another asset?

Convert USDA by trading it into another supported asset on Temple's CLOB. Direct redemption with Brale is not available to end users; conversion occurs through trading on Temple.

Reserves and Transparency

USDA is backed 1:1 by US dollar or USD-denominated reserve assets. Reserves are held and overseen by Brale, the issuer, at regulated US financial institutions.

Key Risks

Holders should understand the following before using USDA:

  • USDA is not legal tender, is not backed by any government, and is not insured by the FDIC or SIPC.

  • USDA holders are not entitled to any interest or return earned on reserve assets.

  • Transactions on Canton Network may be irreversible; losses from accidental transactions may not be recoverable.

  • Digital assets are subject to legislative and regulatory change, which may adversely affect their use, transfer, and value.

  • Technological difficulties experienced by Brale, Temple, or third-party providers may temporarily prevent access to or use of USDA.
