Temple Digital Group has partnered with HIFI to bring bank transfers to the platform. Eligible accounts can now move US dollars directly between their bank and their Canton wallet — onramping USD into USDCx on Canton, and offramping USDCx back into USD — without routing through a third-party exchange.
HIFI is a regulated payments institution that operates the bank relationships and rails behind the flow. USD banking services are provided by Cross River Bank, which issues each verified user a virtual account in their own name. Incoming dollars land in that account, are converted to USDC, and are bridged to Canton, where they settle as USDCx directly in the wallet you control. Temple never takes custody at any point in the path. USDCx is required for offramping.
Eligible accounts will find Bank Transfers under Portfolio in their Temple profile. Access requires a one-time identity verification with HIFI, described below.
Who is eligible to use Bank Transfers?
At the start, Bank Transfers are available to business customers and retail individuals in the United States. Because transfers are limited to USD today, availability is limited to match. Rollout will continue in phases over the coming months, and we will extend coverage as HIFI expands its own.
Why do I need to onboard again if I already completed Temple onboarding?
HIFI is a separate regulated institution with its own compliance obligations to its banking partners and regulators. It is required to verify you directly, and Temple cannot pass its own verification through on your behalf. This is a one-time process.
What do I need to complete HIFI verification?
Government name and tax ID (SSN or ITIN for individuals)
Residential address
Government-issued photo ID
Proof of address, if your address does not appear on your ID
A short questionnaire covering purpose of business and source of funds
Is business onboarding (KYB) different?
Yes. Businesses go through additional steps: the entity itself must be verified, along with its ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) and officers. Expect this to take longer than individual verification.
How long does verification take?
If all information was accurate and the required documents were provided, individual accounts should be confirmed the same business day. Business verifications can take up to two business days on correctly submitted information. If anything further is needed, you will receive a notification. While your application is pending you will see Application Submitted — Under review; select Refresh status to check for updates. If more than three (3) business days have passed since submission with no response, contact support ([email protected]) from your registered email address.
My screen says "Finish Your Verification." What does that mean?
Your HIFI profile was created, but the identity check was not completed. Select Continue verification to finish it in the secure HIFI window. Your progress is preserved. During the HIFI verification steps, ensure you complete every section and save your progress along the way.
What is the virtual account, exactly?
It is a receiving account issued in your name for one purpose: taking in USD to be onramped to Canton. There is no separate login, no balance to hold funds in, no card, no bill pay, and no ability to send or receive payments from anyone else. Funds that arrive are converted and bridged. That is the entire scope of the account.
Which payment methods can I use?
Wire, ACH, and RTP. Routing and account numbers for all three appear on the Bank Transfers screen once you are verified, along with the beneficiary name and address to use.
How long do transfers take?
RTP: instant
Wire: under one business day
ACH: one to three business days
RTP is not enabled on every bank account, so early transfers may need to route as wire or ACH. Your first transfer can also take longer while account linking completes.
Do onramps cost anything?
No fee applies to onramps during the initial launch period. USD arriving in your virtual account is delivered to your wallet as USDCx at face value, with nothing deducted by Temple. Your own bank may charge you for sending a wire.
This is not permanent. A conversion fee on onramps will be introduced as the rail matures, and it will be published here before it takes effect. Offramps carry fees today, listed below.
What fees apply when I offramp?
Three components, all shown before you confirm the transfer:
Conversion — 0.45% for individual accounts, 0.35% for business accounts, netted out of the amount converted.
Payout rail — $1.50 for ACH, $1.50 for RTP, $30.00 for a wire.
Network buffer — 2 USDC, to cover moving USDCx off Canton. Unused portion is returned to you.
What is the network buffer, and do I get it back?
Moving USDCx off Canton requires a burn on the network, and the exact cost isn't known until the transaction settles. Temple reserves 2 USDC against it, deducts what the burn actually costs, and returns the remainder to you. It is passed through at cost with no Temple margin. On small offramps this is usually the largest single line item.
Is there a minimum offramp amount?
There is no minimum, but the payout rail fee and network buffer are flat and do not scale with the amount, so they weigh heavily on small transfers. On a $50 offramp by wire, fees are a substantial share of the total. Batching into fewer, larger offramps costs proportionally less.
What are microdeposits, and when will I see them?
Often times, linking your bank account for ACH and RTP transfers requires verifying that you control it. Two small deposits are sent to your HIFI account and displayed on the Bank Transfers screen under Show bank verification microdeposits, listing one or more exact amounts — for example, $0.11 and $0.12 — and the sending name. Enter those amounts when requested by your bank to confirm the link. Once confirmed, the account stays linked for future ACH and RTP transfers.
What happens to my funds after I send them?
You send USD from your bank to your virtual account at Cross River Bank.
HIFI receives the funds — status shows Received.
The USD is converted to USDC on Ethereum and bridged to Canton — status shows Bridging.
USDCx settles in your Canton wallet — status shows Delivered.
The progress tracker shows all three stages. Each entry in your Onramp History records the amount onramped, amount delivered, bank reference, Transfer ID, Bridge ID, and transaction hash.
My transfer says "Received" but hasn't moved to "Bridging." What's happening?
Your funds have arrived in your virtual account, and the transfer is with HIFI's compliance team for review before conversion and bridging. These reviews happen during HIFI's operating hours — 9:00am to 5:00pm ET on weekdays, with a clearing run at 3:00pm ET on Saturdays and Sundays. A transfer that arrives overnight or outside those windows will stay at Received until the next one opens, and should clear during that window. No action is needed from you. Temple is your single point of contact throughout — if anything further is required, we will reach out, and if a transfer has sat at Received across two full review windows, contact us with the Transfer ID.
Where does my onramp settle?
Into your own non-custodial wallet on Canton — Temple never holds the funds. Because the wallet is yours, the inbound transfer has to be accepted there before the onramp is complete. Wallets such as Loop can accept these automatically: enable One-step Transfers and auto-accept incoming utility transfers from the relevant issuer (CIP-56 — DA Utility Tokens). If a transfer shows as Delivered on Temple but the balance isn't in your wallet, the transfer is waiting to be accepted. Open your wallet and accept it there.
How does offramping work?
Offramping requires a payout destination, which is added separately from onramping. Add your bank account details under Offramp, then initiate the transfer once those details are saved. HIFI converts your USDCx to USD and pays out to that account over the same rails. The same verification requirements apply.
Can I offramp directly from my wallet?
No. Off-ramps must be initiated from the Bank Transfers screen in your Temple profile. The USDCx is drawn from your own non-custodial wallet when the transfer is processed, but the instruction has to come through Temple — there is no way to send USDCx to an off-ramp from your wallet on its own. If you're holding another asset, convert it to USDCx first.
Why do I need Canton Coin (CC)?
Transactions on Canton Network require CC to pay network fees. Onramped funds arrive as USDCx, which cannot pay fees, so you will need a CC balance to trade on Temple or transact elsewhere on Canton. The app will flag when your balance is short — for example, you need at least 10 CC in your wallet to cover transaction fees. You can swap into CC on Temple.
Are there other costs beyond Temple's fees?
Yes. Transactions on Canton Network require CC to pay network fees, and the wallet you use may charge its own fee when you sign a transaction. Those charges are set by your wallet, not by Temple, and are not visible to us — they will not appear in the fee breakdown shown before you confirm a transfer. Check your wallet's own documentation for what it charges.
Does Temple hold my funds?
No. Temple is non-custodial. USD sits at Cross River Bank until conversion, and USDCx settles directly into the Canton wallet you control.
A transfer looks stuck. What should I do?
Open Details on the transfer in your Onramp History, copy the Transfer ID, and contact support ([email protected]) with that ID.
Who do I contact if there's a problem?
Temple Support. HIFI does not contact users directly — anything needed on a transfer or a verification comes to you from us, and anything you need to raise goes through Temple support. We will work with HIFI in the background.
